# Kling 4.0 vs Seedance 2.5: Same-Prompt Test Canonical page: https://fuser.studio/articles/kling-4-vs-seedance-2-5 Kling 4.0 in Fuser beat Seedance 2.5 on reference lock, camera moves and two-person action in our same-prompt test; Seedance gave the moodier long take. [All guides](https://fuser.studio/articles) · [Kling 4.0 in Fuser](https://fuser.studio/models/kling-4-0) · [Seedance in Fuser](https://fuser.studio/models/seedance-2) **Quick answer:** Kling 4.0 in Fuser was the more reliable of the two in our same-prompt test: it held a character from reference photos, made the camera move we wrote and kept two fighters' bodies apart at speed, while Seedance 2.5 gave the more atmospheric long take. Seedance 2.5 also declined our photoreal portrait references outright, and at 720p it cost about three times as much per second. Both run as nodes in Fuser, two of its 169 video models, so one prompt can go to each and you keep the take that suits the shot. Each test below is one run per model, so read it as each model's tendencies, not a ranking. ## How we tested We ran five prompts across four tests on 23 October 2026, one generation per model each, with no retries and no picking between takes. Test 2 has two subjects because Seedance 2.5 declined the first. The settings match what the two Fuser nodes send: - **Models:** Kling 4.0 and Seedance 2.5, the newest Seedance in Fuser (the [Seedance node](https://fuser.studio/models/seedance-2)'s default model). - **Matched settings:** the same prompt, the same reference images where used, the same duration and aspect ratio, and 720p on both. Seedance 2.5's Generate Audio was on (its default); Kling 4.0 generates sound with every clip and has no audio switch in Fuser. - **Tests:** an 8-second take with four timed beats; a character locked from two reference photos; a fast two-person exchange in 21:9; and a half orbit with a push-in that ends on a spoken line. We checked every clip frame by frame, ran scene detection for cuts (it found none in any clip), measured each soundtrack's level and transcribed the spoken lines. Each video below plays Kling 4.0 on the left and Seedance 2.5 on the right. Inline they play muted; open one full size to hear Kling 4.0's sound on the first pass and Seedance 2.5's on the second. ## Test 1: one long take with four beats **8 seconds, 16:9. Prompt: **“One continuous take with no cuts, the camera floating just behind and beside the boat the whole time. Blue dawn on a still reed lake, thin mist on the water, film-photograph colour. 0-2s: a ferryman in a heavy dark-green oilskin coat and flat cap pushes a flat wooden punt off from a weathered jetty with a long pole. 2-4s: as the punt glides through a channel in the tall reeds, a grey heron lifts out of the reeds beside him and flaps away low over the water. 4-6s: he ducks under a low, moss-covered stone footbridge and the camera follows him through its shadow. 6-8s: the punt emerges into open water in the first warm sunlight, and a small whitewashed chapel on a wooded island comes into view ahead. Sound: water dripping from the pole, heron wingbeats, the echo under the bridge, one distant chapel bell.” ![Kling 4.0 (left) and Seedance 2.5 (right) play the same 8-second take of a ferryman poling a punt through reeds at dawn.](https://statics.fuser.studio/cms/1d922d94-470f-4d65-b1a4-cf025b538d6a) _Test 1, one run each, 8 s, 720p. Kling 4.0 keeps the ferryman; Seedance 2.5 leaves him on the jetty. Open full size for each model's sound in turn._ - **Kling 4.0** kept the ferryman in frame for all eight seconds, filmed from behind as the prompt asked, and played the beats in order: a heron takes off from the bridge parapet at about two seconds, he passes under the bridge from about four and a half seconds, and the punt comes out facing the island chapel. Two things slipped: the chapel was already visible through the arch early on, and the light stayed cool blue instead of turning to warm sunlight. - **Seedance 2.5** shot it from the bow of the punt and made the more cinematic clip: the heron bursts out of the reeds right in front of the lens at about two seconds, the boat goes dark under the bridge, then comes out into warm, misty light with the chapel ahead. But the ferryman is pushing off from the jetty, not standing in the boat, and he is left behind within the first two seconds. The rest of the take has no one poling the punt. **Verdict: split.** Kling 4.0 kept the subject and the order of events; Seedance 2.5 kept the mood, the light change and the payoff, and lost the man. If the person is the point of the shot, Kling 4.0; if the place is, Seedance 2.5. For writing timed beats like these, see the [Kling 4.0 prompt guide](https://fuser.studio/articles/kling-4-prompt-guide) and the [Seedance 2.5 prompt guide](https://fuser.studio/articles/seedance-2-5-prompt-guide). ## Test 2: a character locked from reference photos **5 seconds, 9:16. We made two reference photos of an invented violin maker, front and three-quarter, and cited them in the prompt. Prompt: **“@Image1 and @Image2 show the same woman: keep her face, silver hair, tortoiseshell glasses and ochre linen work coat exactly as in the references. One continuous shot. In a narrow violin-maker's workshop, unvarnished violin bodies hanging in a row along the window and wood shavings on the bench, she lifts a finished violin to the low afternoon window light and turns it to check the varnish, then looks into the camera and says: "This one sings." Warm sun, dust drifting in the air. Sound: quiet workshop room tone, the soft knock of wood, her line spoken clearly.” ![Two reference portraits of a silver-haired violin maker, then Kling 4.0's clip of her turning a violin in her workshop and saying "This one sings."](https://statics.fuser.studio/cms/c44fe77f-8fd0-464c-a54c-a834b754c51e) _Test 2, the two reference photos and Kling 4.0's only run. Seedance 2.5 declined this request. Open full size for sound._ - **Kling 4.0** kept her face, cropped silver hair, tortoiseshell glasses, ochre coat and even the pencil in the breast pocket, and set her in a workshop with unvarnished violin bodies hanging by the window. She turns the violin to the light, looks into the lens and says “This one sings” between 3.7 and 4.4 seconds, in one shot. - **Seedance 2.5** did not make a video. Its safety check declined the request because the images “may contain likenesses of real people”, even though both were generated portraits of an invented woman. We did not alter the inputs or retry. **To still compare reference lock, we ran a second subject that isn't a person: a carved wooden fox marionette, again from a front and a side photo, at 1:1. Prompt: **“@Image1 and @Image2 show the same wooden fox marionette: keep its carving, worn rust paint, glass-bead eyes, indigo linen coat with brass buttons and its strings exactly as in the references. One continuous shot. At night on the deep-blue painted windowsill of an old toymaker's attic, snow falling outside, the marionette walks along the sill on its strings in small jointed steps, stops at the frosted glass, lifts one paw to touch it, then turns its head toward the camera. Moonlight and the warm glow of a single candle. Sound: wooden feet tapping on the sill, the faint creak of the strings, soft wind outside.” ![Kling 4.0 (left) and Seedance 2.5 (right) animate the same wooden fox marionette at a snowy night window from two reference photos.](https://statics.fuser.studio/cms/e7667fb7-324e-4eb9-8279-55672a20c1d9) _Test 2, second subject, one run each, 1:1. Kling 4.0 holds the carving closer; Seedance 2.5 walks it further._ - **Kling 4.0** matched the reference closely: the same rust paint, pale snout, brass-buttoned coat and jointed legs. It barely moved its feet, raised a paw to the frosted glass at about two seconds and turned to the camera at the end, so the “walk along the sill” was barely there. - **Seedance 2.5** did more of the action: the fox walks several jointed steps along the sill on visible strings while the camera follows, touches the glass and turns its head. The face drifted from the reference, with a longer, lighter snout and larger eyes, though the coat and tail held. **Verdict: Kling 4.0.** It accepted both subjects and kept each closer to its reference photos. Seedance 2.5 moved the marionette more convincingly, but it declined our photoreal portraits, so for keeping a real-looking cast consistent, Kling 4.0 was the only one of the two that worked here. ## Test 3: fast two-person action **5 seconds, 21:9. Prompt: **“One continuous wide shot, camera locked off at chest height. On a black volcanic sand beach under a flat silver overcast sky, two capoeira players in loose white trousers and faded indigo tops trade fast moves: one throws a high spinning kick, the other ducks low beneath it and wheels away in a cartwheel, then both spring back up facing each other, swaying in the ginga stance. Wet black sand flicks up from their feet; small grey waves break behind them. Sound: bare feet slapping wet sand, sharp breaths, the surf.” ![Kling 4.0 (left) and Seedance 2.5 (right) play the same capoeira exchange between two players on a black sand beach under an overcast sky.](https://statics.fuser.studio/cms/f00dbf63-a365-45ae-87d6-35acc3780f28) _Test 3, one run each, 21:9. Watch the middle second: Kling 4.0's players stay separate, Seedance 2.5's overlap._ - **Kling 4.0** framed the pair large and kept them readable: a high kick, the other player crouching under it, then a cartwheel away and both back on their feet facing each other. The bodies never merged. The opening second looked more like a boxing guard than capoeira's sway, and the kick is a high kick rather than a spinning one. - **Seedance 2.5** went wider and smaller, with sand visibly flicking up, which suits the beach. Instead of a kick and a duck, one player vaulted over the other's back, and for about half a second the two bodies overlapped into one shape before a cartwheel separated them. ByteDance itself lists the stability of scenes with several interacting people as an area still to improve ([ByteDance Seed](https://seed.bytedance.com/en/blog/one-take-creation-flexible-referencing-introducing-seedance-2-5)). **Verdict: Kling 4.0.** Its choreography read clearly and its limbs stayed attached to the right person. Seedance 2.5 had more texture and energy but lost the two bodies in the middle of the move. ## Test 4: a camera move that ends on a line **5 seconds, 16:9. Prompt: **“Single continuous camera move, no cuts. The shot opens wide on a young florist with curly black hair and a mustard canvas apron, standing among galvanised buckets of coral ranunculus and white anemones under the iron-and-glass roof of an empty covered market at first light. The camera arcs a slow half circle around him, from behind his left shoulder round to face him, while pushing in, and ends in a close-up as he looks up from the stems in his hands and says: "First ones in today." Cool blue daylight from the high windows, one warm bulb above the stall. Sound: the rustle of paper and stems, a distant shutter rolling up, his line spoken clearly.” ![Kling 4.0 (left) and Seedance 2.5 (right) play the same camera move around a florist among buckets of coral ranunculus in an empty covered market.](https://statics.fuser.studio/cms/b34a3041-4ee4-4f9e-a562-5e5f3c2acb50) _Test 4, one run each. Only Kling 4.0 orbits; both speak the line. Open full size to hear each in turn._ - **Kling 4.0** made the move as written: it starts wide behind his shoulder, arcs round while pushing in and ends facing him as he looks up, with coral ranunculus and white anemones in galvanised buckets and a warm bulb over the stall. It ended on a medium shot rather than a close-up. The line lands at 3.9 seconds, leaving a beat after it. - **Seedance 2.5** gave the richer frame, with haze in the hall and a wall of flowers in the foreground, but the camera mostly pushed in and down over the buckets instead of orbiting. He stays half hidden behind the flowers and glances back over his shoulder for the line, which starts at 4.25 seconds and runs to the last frame. The white flowers came out closer to lilies than anemones. **Verdict: Kling 4.0** for following camera direction; Seedance 2.5 for the more painterly frame. Both spoke the line clearly, and both transcribed as the words we wrote. ## Sound Both models generated sound for every clip. Kling 4.0's mixes ran louder in every test, between about 5 and 12 dB above Seedance 2.5's on average, with punchy foley: the marionette's wooden taps hit hard. Seedance 2.5 mixed quieter and kept a steadier ambient bed under its effects, and in Test 1 it timed a burst of sound to the heron's take-off and a ringing tone to the chapel reveal. If you need a level mix for an edit, Seedance 2.5's tracks leave more headroom; if you want sound that reads on a phone speaker, Kling 4.0's is already there. ## What each model offers beyond this test - **Kling 4.0:** Kling's guide, dated 14 October 2026, describes 3 to 30 second generations, native stereo audio with dialogue written in quotation marks in nine languages, and multi-shot storytelling that is on by default, so ask for “one continuous take” when you want one ([Kling 4.0 guide](https://kling.ai/quickstart/kling-4-model-user-guide)). Fuser's [Kling 4.0 node](https://fuser.studio/models/kling-4-0) runs 3 to 30 seconds at 720p or 1080p in 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 or 21:9, from text, a start frame (with an optional end frame), up to 10 reference images and 5 reference clips cited as @Image1 or @Video1, or in Edit mode on an existing clip. - **Seedance 2.5:** ByteDance describes 30-second audio-video clips in a single pass and up to 30 reference images, 10 video clips and 10 audio clips per generation ([ByteDance Seed](https://seed.bytedance.com/en/blog/one-take-creation-flexible-referencing-introducing-seedance-2-5)). Fuser's [Seedance node](https://fuser.studio/models/seedance-2) runs 2.5 at 480p, 720p or 1080p for 4 to 30 seconds, in aspect ratios from 21:9 to 9:16 including 4:3 and 3:4, with a start and end frame, image, video and audio references, and a Generate Audio switch. It also keeps Seedance 2.0 with its Fast and Mini modes for quicker drafts. ## Relative cost Both nodes charge by the second of output. At the rates Fuser charges for each model, a second of Seedance 2.5 costs about three times a second of Kling 4.0 at 720p, and about five times at 1080p. Seedance 2.5 costs the same with or without audio; Kling 4.0 always includes sound. For drafts on a budget, Seedance 2.5 at 480p, or Seedance 2.0 Fast or Mini, narrow the gap. ## Which one to use - **Pick Kling 4.0** when a person or product has to look like your reference photos, when the camera move or the blocking is written into the brief, or when two or more people interact at speed. It was also the cheaper of the two per second in every setting we compared. Already on Kling 3.0? See [Kling 4.0 vs Kling 3.0](https://fuser.studio/articles/kling-4-vs-kling-3) for what the upgrade changes. - **Pick Seedance 2.5** when atmosphere and light carry the shot more than a specific subject does, when you want 4:3 or 3:4 output, audio references or a quieter mix, or when the cast is non-human and you want livelier movement from it. - **Run both** on one canvas when in doubt: one prompt node, the same reference images, a Kling 4.0 node and a Seedance node side by side, then keep the better take. For how Seedance compares with older Kling and Veo, see [Seedance 2.5 vs Kling 3.0 vs Veo 3.1](https://fuser.studio/articles/seedance-vs-kling-vs-veo). ## What we saw, test by test. One run per model per test, 720p, 23 October 2026. ### Results | Test | Kling 4.0 | Seedance 2.5 | | --- | --- | --- | | 8 s take, four beats (16:9) | Kept the ferryman and the order of beats; light stayed cool. | Best mood and light change; lost the ferryman after 2 s. | | Person from reference photos (9:16) | Winner. Face, glasses and coat held; line at 3.7 s. | Declined: flagged as possible likeness of a real person. | | Marionette from reference photos (1:1) | Winner on likeness. Closest to the carving; barely walked. | Walked on its strings; face drifted from the reference. | | Two-person action (21:9) | Winner. Kick, duck and cartwheel read clearly; bodies stayed apart. | Sand and energy, but the two bodies overlapped mid-move. | | Half orbit and push-in, spoken line (16:9) | Winner. Orbit as written; line at 3.9 s. | Richer frame, but pushed in instead of orbiting; line at 4.25 s. | | Cost per second in Fuser | The cheaper one: about a third of Seedance 2.5 at 720p. | About 3x Kling 4.0 at 720p, about 5x at 1080p. | ## Questions, answered. ### Is Kling 4.0 better than Seedance 2.5? In our four same-prompt tests, Kling 4.0 followed direction more closely: it kept a character from reference photos, made the requested camera orbit and kept two fighters' bodies separate. Seedance 2.5 produced the more atmospheric long take. Each test was one run per model, and both run as nodes in Fuser. ### Which is cheaper, Kling 4.0 or Seedance 2.5? Kling 4.0. In Fuser, a second of Seedance 2.5 costs about three times a second of Kling 4.0 at 720p and about five times at 1080p. ### Why did Seedance 2.5 reject my reference photo? In our test, Seedance 2.5 declined two generated portraits of an invented woman, saying the images may contain likenesses of real people. It accepted reference photos of a wooden marionette. If a photoreal person must carry across shots, Kling 4.0 accepted the same portraits. ### How long can Kling 4.0 and Seedance 2.5 videos be? Both generate up to 30 seconds in one pass. In Fuser, Kling 4.0 runs 3 to 30 seconds and Seedance 2.5 runs 4 to 30 seconds. ### Do both models generate sound? Yes. Kling 4.0 generates stereo sound with every clip and has no audio switch in Fuser. Seedance 2.5 has a Generate Audio switch that is on by default. In our runs Kling 4.0's mixes were louder and Seedance 2.5's quieter, with a steadier ambient bed. ### Can I compare Kling 4.0 and Seedance 2.5 on my own prompt? Yes. In Fuser, connect one prompt node, and any reference images, to a Kling 4.0 node and a Seedance node on the same canvas, run both and keep the better take. ## Run your shot through both. One prompt and the same references into Kling 4.0 and Seedance 2.5, side by side on one canvas.
